This certification signifies that Coast Plaza Hospital has a highly qualified team of health care professionals with the tools and expertise necessary to provide life-saving critical care when exhibiting the signs and symptoms of a stroke. We are proud to be the first Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center in Norwalk.

This partnership with Keck Medicine allows our doctors, nurses and patients to interact via video connection directly with the world renowned physicians of the Keck School of Medicine of USC for critical, life-saving care.
- Integrated Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) Services to perform multiple-specialty sessions and telestroke examinations
Thanks to our partnership with Language Access Network, CPH now has the ability to perform telestroke examinations in over 250 languages, including American Sign Language. Because of the Carenection platform which supports multiple specialty sessions, all this is available at the push of a button.

The criteria for certification includes stroke education, participation in research, access to advanced imaging technology and demonstration of application and compliance with clinical practice guidelines for Primary Stroke Centers.
